A former school counselor in Southern California has been charged with molesting multiple children, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Prosecutors allege that the counselor engaged in sexual misconduct involving 15 minors while employed at a school in the region. The charges state that the Ventura County school counselor used his professional position to gain access to students, and the alleged conduct is said to have taken place over an extended period.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving reports of inappropriate behavior involving students. Following the investigation, the counselor was taken into custody and now faces numerous felony counts related to child sexual abuse.
As with all criminal matters, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The case remains ongoing.

Institutional Responsibilities in Allegations Involving Minors
Incidents of alleged abuse within school environments often prompt broader questions about institutional safeguards. Schools, both public and private, have heightened duties to ensure the safety of minors, including background checks, staff training, reporting protocols, and adequate supervision.
While criminal proceedings determine individual guilt or innocence, civil matters may examine whether systemic failures contributed to enabling misconduct. These inquiries typically focus on policies, reporting structures, and institutional responses when concerns are raised.
