Motor vehicle accidents can happen to anyone in Orange County and throughout Orange County, even law enforcement officers. Any accident can cause severe injuries and the worst crashes can lead to fatalities. For people who have been injured or suffered the loss of a loved one in a motor vehicle accident, it is vital to contact a legal professional as soon as possible to prepare for a lawsuit.

A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was killed when he was hit by a car during a traffic stop. The officer had stopped a driver for speeding and was on the side of the road when another vehicle swerved onto the right shoulder of the interstate and hit him. The driver was arrested for the incident. The officer was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Any motor vehicle accident will lead to difficulties. If the victim survives, there will likely be medical expenses, lost income and dramatic life changes that can impact the victim for an extended period, if not forever. With a fatality, the family left behind will not only need to consider the emotional and personal aftermath, but the financial situation as well. Filing a wrongful death claim requires legal assistance to ensure all the evidence is accrued and the process is done correctly. Calling a law firm as soon as possible is key.

If a loved one has been killed in a motor vehicle accident, it is important to call a lawyer experienced in wrongful death cases to help with your case.

In the years that followed, Doug’s sons Brian and Matt joined him in the practice and helped build the firm into a powerful force to help right the wrongs done to their clients. Much of their success over the years has stemmed from the dynamic created by the familial nature of the firm and how harmoniously they all work together, each of their individual strengths complementing and fortifying the group as a whole. Accordingly, the firm changed its name to Easton & Easton, LLP in 2014 to better reflect the true dynamic of the firm and Doug now serves as Managing Partner of Easton & Easton. In 2015, Doug was selected as a Top 100 Litigation Lawyer in California by The American Society of Legal Advocates. In addition, Doug is listed in Strathmore’s Who’s Who, and in 2008 was named its “Professional of the Year” in Medical Malpractice.
